I will be waiting to see your progress. Good luck, take your time and you will be fine. This is not brain surgery.

No problem bud, i am starting my project this weekend. Maybe I’ll upload some photos. I’ll try that HydroBon instead of the red guard i was going to use.
Thanks

proithero, I am sorry I deleted your comment by accident. I hit remove instead of reply. You can repost it and then I will look clairvoyant.

proithero, The backer board is Permabase. I like this backer for two reasons. first it is lighter than other brands and second it has a fiberglass wrap on it’s long edges. The fiberglass wrap also has a tapered edge for easier finishing between the sheets. The caulking was Relyon, the spelling may be incorrect on this product. The caulk was a siliconized acrylic latex caulk that turned clear when it dried. The waterproofing i used was Laticrete Hydro-ban. This is a great product also.

You need the floor pan in a steam shower too. You just have to do all the additional steps covered in the video to keep it water tight. Steam is under pressure and it will find an opening if one exists. Thank you for your comments.

I wanted to install one of these steam showers but i have a floor pan already installed in my new bathroom. I like your work and the music!
